Taiwan Question & CCP-China’s Ultra-Nationalistic War Hawks. // 1 of the longest period of relative peace in world history was punctuated by World War I. Everybody tried to play nice with Hitler, then shortly, WWII. Now, what with communist dictator Xi, with the CCP’s war hawks & most influential military leaders who lack accurate appreciation of CCP-China’s recent-years’ & ever-growing dependence on foreign trade with domestic economic dilemmas at crisis levels not abating? China’s surprise capabilities?

First, our lives today. I have a bad headache. Far below: “Taiwan Question & CCP-China’s Ultra-Nationalistic War Hawks” which is only partial of the title topic.

Yesterday, we went to an [ event ] to celebrate, show solidarity and continued support of our team. I violated a pledge, which I declared in advance I might, if to have a drinking session with them. 3 red horse, 1 Tanduay, shared among more than a dozen of them. They already quite some, when we got there past 10pm. I had a very little serving of food before that, a necessity because Rian and I were to drive ourselves back to our place, on winding, dangerous stretches of national highway. Some little serving of food would make you not go drunk as fast.

Today, I woke up to a half-spoon milk drink prepared by Rian. Rian, is not feeling well, somehow with flu since yesterday, and I feel nervous about it because he might have become vulnerable due to FJSL having lived and worked with us for almost a year. So I took an entire bowl of frozen roast pork leftover from a pre-Christmas party we took home, to re-cook it in some special sauce for him. I didn’t want to do it, as it would be a temptation for me, and it was one of my all-time favorite foods, but I did it for him just for today. And I didn’t even taste it, but it’s a habit of mine, not to taste what I’m cooking, except in rare cases. So he had that for 2 meals including dinner.

Last night I drove quite slow and with extra care. I felt quite drunk. I made sure I was on the lead, Rian following me. But in a few kilometers before our place, he took the lead, driving at more than 75km/hr on average. We stopped by a 7-Eleven half-way in our long drive, via a longer-route. Today, I woke up with a rare bad case of headache, and I still feel it now. I had a warm iced tea-lemon juice tonight, prepared by Rian too. I took a preventive anti-cholesterol pill with that. This afternoon, I bought him some veggies, to steam in the rice cooker.

As we drove around a city, I got tempted by endless food offerings on the streets and parks. I would glance at restaurants teeming with seemingly happy people. Fruit stands had crowds of people, especially those in major roads, it’s pre-New Year’s Eve buying by both poor and mid-class folks. I envied them.

Meantime, those who victimized and seriously threatened us, even warning us against our mobility this very Holiday Season, are having it all good and looking forward to ever better economic status in large part because we afforded them this in almost a year especially since April 2025. Why do I alone, have to endure everything? On bad guys win, and get all that they want? Even at the cost of others and their peace of mind, being at the receiving end of a zero-sum scheme? God is good. I am hopeful, for justice.

Taiwan Question & Ultra-Nationalistic War Hawks

With one of the highest IQ profile of any population among developed nations, and with Taiwanese civil society and government leaders having a disproportionate percentage of them having been educated in the U.S., Europe and other technologically and scientifically advanced countries (Japan, etc.), I feel confident any major conflict or CCP-China’s attempt to invade Taiwan would not be triggered by an immature, careless act by the Taiwanese government and military. It’s not always the case in other countries with mutual-defense or protection treaties and security agreements with the United States. As I have once stated in a Facebook post.

We can also have a high-level of confidence that Taiwan would not send the United States, President Trump, his national security team and the military leaders confusing signals. I am saying that CCP-China’s leaders and hawks would not react as could be expected to any strong signals of appeasement from the Taiwanese government and top leaders (of KMT, among others). I also think any signal, or indication however vague, of a Taiwan capitulating easily in a bad case of early days of war with the PLA seemingly unstoppable would not inspire confidence for other nations and militaries (the United States, Japan, etc.) to plan for a maximal all-out response that would risk so many of their soldiers’ lives too and both military and civilian assets and infrastructures.

My main point: An attempted invasion by the Communist Party of China to invade Taiwan should be considered a clear existential threat to Taiwan itself, its peoples, its culture, its unique identity, unique place in Asia and the world, its democratic ways of life, its freedoms and liberties guaranteed by its very Constitution, and even an ever improving level of affluence, prosperity. Taiwan is one of the most highly prestigious, highly respected member of the global community, and it can’t be just another province of China that Hong Kong and Macau are becoming, with “Beijing” always a “term” (or word) that prefaces or follows any mention of these once fully democratic societies.
